Join us for the sixth annual Strings Under the Stars, featuring the world-class musicians of Long Island Chamber Music.
This year, due to popular demand, there will be two live performances in the Suffolk County Vanderbilt Museum’s Reichert Planetarium on Sunday, November 15, at 5:00 and 7:00 pm. The program will run about an hour in length total without intermission. Programs and visuals are added each year and will be announced at the performance. The music ranges from composers like Bach, Rameau, Beethoven, and Brahms, to more modern music from space-inspired scenes including Hans Zimmer and Philip Glass. We recommend purchasing your tickets in advance as this event does tend to sell out ahead of time.
Relax and unwind as these talented musicians perform an immersive program of introspective classical music for string quartet paired with planetarium visuals of the cosmos projected onto a sixty-foot dome.
LICM musicians are a collection of New York’s most in-demand classical chamber musicians who in addition to LICM perform with internationally acclaimed string quartets, as soloists, in professional orchestras including New York Philharmonic, Orpheus Chamber Orchestra, and in Broadway pit orchestras. In addition to being leaders in their art form, LICM musicians are teaching artists, entrepreneurs, and socially-minded advocates for classical music.
